Fallen for full-length

Aqua by Aqua origami bow front skirt

origami bow front skirt

Ive totally fallen for full-length and maxi skirts especially ones with a little creative twist. I recently enrolled on a dress making course which starts next week. I have decided to create my own version of the Aqua origami bow front skirt.

Now I know this maybe a little difficult for a beginner but I do enjoy a challenge. If you follow me on instagram you will know that I recently when to Green St in London to choose materials. I have started on a very simple maxi skirt which I’m hoping will be completed over the next few days.

Above are a few pictures of the types of skirts I really like, what do you think? As this will be my first time making a garment any tips/pointers you may have to offer me would be greatly appreciated.

I hope you all have a good week. x

What to wear for Eid?

I haven’t been very active in posts this month as its Ramadan, this blessed month now coming to an end, and Eid is quickly approaching.
The Eid celebrations in Norwich are different every year and we never really know what’s going to happen until the last minute. I received a message yesterday to reveal the plans for Eid which will be an Eid Olympic Festival.

As always I face the same problem every year (what does one wear???) and with this Eid being Olympic themed I’m totally stuck. Below is what I had in mind to wear (well at least for the morning prayers and breakfast) what do you think. Yes No, Maybe so……?

It’s Monday already…………..

Now I now I said that I wasn’t going to publish any posts this month (but I couldn’t keep away) the past few days have been wonderful, I’ve been spending much needed quality time with friends, cooking lots of wonderful meals and of course eating LOADS after every fast.
The weather this month has been a total let down, however that still didn’t stop me from going to the park this week with my lovely guests from South Africa.
This month my mind has been working OVERTIME I have so many things that I want to do I don’t know where to begin. I will tell you all my plans nearer the time, but what I will say that this project will involve me going to Morocco to buy stock and lost of it (Oh I’m so excited)

How could I forget!!! Yes the name of my blog has changed and this is something that I’ve wanted to do for such a long time I just could think of a name to suite. The Turban Diaries is a name which I think is perfect for me and I’m definitely going to stick with (what do you think?) I have lots of new ideas of this blog and I’m planning to change its layout and image very soon. So if anyone knows any good illustrators please send them my way.

As its only Monday I hope you all have a good week filled with lots of love and laughter.
